Timpano Las Olas: Where the Bartenders Already Know Your Order

If you're looking for a place to make a regular habit of, Timpano Las Olas is it. My husband and I eat here about once a week, and it has become less of a "night out" and more of a second living room — one with better cocktails.

Timpano Las Olas 450 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 A short walk from Las Olas River House, right in the heart of the boulevard.

Why We Keep Coming Back

The food is excellent, but what keeps us loyal is the atmosphere and the people. We've been going long enough that the bartenders recognize us the moment we walk in — they start making our usual drinks before we've even sat down. That kind of familiarity is rare, and it makes every visit feel less like dining out and more like being welcomed somewhere.

The space itself has an upscale, sophisticated energy with a subtle speakeasy feel — rich emerald and gold tones, art deco touches, and just enough moodiness in the lighting to make it feel special without being stuffy. It works equally well for a quiet dinner for two or a livelier night with friends.

As for the food, three dishes are on repeat for us:

  • The crab cake — a starter we order almost every visit

  • The meatballs — rich, comforting, and consistently well done

  • The salmon — a lighter option that never disappoints

The cocktail program is just as thoughtful as the food, and the bar staff clearly take pride in it.

What Residents Should Know Before Visiting

  • Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends — this is a popular spot on the boulevard.

  • Dress code: the dining room enforces a smart-casual dress code (no hats for men).

  • Golden Hour, Timpano's take on happy hour, runs in the afternoon at the bar with discounted drinks and bites — a great way to try it out before committing to a full dinner.

  • Valet parking is available for $10, and self-parking with validation is available in the attached garage — both easy options if you'd rather not deal with street parking on Las Olas.

  • Groups: if you're hosting visiting family or a resident gathering, Timpano has private and semi-private dining spaces, including a garden patio, that work well for larger parties.

Hours vary by day, so it's worth checking ahead if you're planning a specific time.

The Bottom Line

Timpano has become our go-to, and not just because the food is reliably good — it's the whole experience. Between the crab cake, the meatballs, the salmon, and a bar staff that treats you like a regular from the second visit on, it's an easy recommendation for anyone at Las Olas River House looking for a neighborhood spot worth becoming a regular at.
