Art and Culture Right Across the Street
One of the benefits of living at Las Olas River House is having the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale directly across the street.
The museum is smaller than the major institutions you might visit in Paris or Manhattan, but I do not expect it to be either of those. What it offers is something different: convenient access to changing exhibitions and an easy way to experience art and culture without leaving our neighborhood.

We have visited the museum several times. With our resident pass, we are able to return whenever a new exhibition opens or when we feel like spending an afternoon looking at art.
A Museum You Can Visit More Than Once
The manageable size is part of the appeal. A visit does not require an entire day or an elaborate plan. You have time to explore the galleries, take in the current exhibitions, and then continue your afternoon on Las Olas.
Because the exhibitions change, each visit offers something different. We do not always remember the name of every artist or exhibition, but we remember the experience of slowing down, seeing something new, and having thoughtful conversations afterward.
It is also refreshing to have a cultural destination so close to home. We are able to walk across the street, spend time in the galleries, and pair the visit with lunch, dinner, or a walk along the Riverwalk.

Plan Your Visit
The museum presents rotating exhibitions featuring modern, contemporary, Latin American, and South Florida art. It also offers programs, artist discussions, and special events throughout the year.
Visitors receive free admission and extended hours on the first Thursday of each month during Sunny Days and Starry Nights. This is a good opportunity for residents who have not visited the museum to explore it for the first time.
